About WordSolverTool

Free word tools for people who love word games, built with care for accuracy and privacy.

What we make

WordSolverTool is a small set of word game tools: an unscrambler, an anagram solver, Scrabble and Words With Friends helpers, a Wordle solver, a crossword pattern finder and a library of word lists. All of them run on the same dictionary of 172,830 words, so their answers agree with each other.

Who we are

The site is built and maintained by GelFuzion, Inc., a small web studio. We play these games ourselves, and we built the site because many existing word tools are slow, cluttered or vague about which words they include. Our goal is the opposite: fast tools, clear explanations, and honesty about the limits of our data.

How the tools work

Everything runs in your browser. When you first search, your browser downloads the word list once and does the work locally. Your letters are never sent to us. If you are curious about the algorithm, we explain it in How Word Solvers Work.

Our dictionary

We use ENABLE, a public-domain word list designed for word games, with a small supplement of widely confirmed later additions. It is very close to the official North American list but not identical. Our editorial standards explain exactly what that means for you.

What makes these tools different

  • Honest scoring. Blank tiles are scored as zero, the way the games score them, so the "best" play really is the best play.
  • Correct Wordle logic. Repeated letters are handled exactly as Wordle colors them, which is where many solvers go wrong.
  • Separate Words With Friends values. Several letters are worth different amounts than in Scrabble, so that tool uses its own scoring.
  • Measured guides. Statistics in our guides, such as which Wordle openers narrow the field fastest, are calculated from our dictionary rather than repeated from elsewhere.

How we keep it current

We review pages regularly and log every meaningful change on our What's new page. Each page shows the date its content last changed, so you can see what is fresh. Reader reports about missing or questionable words go straight onto our review list.

How the site is funded

The tools are free. We plan to support the site with advertising from Google AdSense. Ads never change which words we show or how we rank them.
