A warmer look, faster pages and accessibility fixes

  • New Fireside Glow design: warmer colors, wooden letter tiles and a tile rack under the main tool.
  • A cozy cabin fireplace now welcomes you on the home page and every solver, and the highest-scoring words in every solver are marked with a small flame.
  • Pages now render sooner on phones: fonts are served from our own site and styles load with the page instead of as separate files.
  • Improved text contrast on dates and small labels so they are easier to read.
  • Cleaner heading structure and a proper navigation landmark for the mobile menu, for screen reader users.
  • Fixed sideways scrolling in the mobile menu.

Long-form guides, share images and this changelog

  • Rewrote the Wordle strategy guide around a measured test of popular starting words against all five-letter words in our dictionary.
  • Expanded the Scrabble strategy guide with a bingo stem analysis showing which six-letter combinations complete the most seven-letter words.
  • Expanded How word solvers work with word-length statistics, blank tile scoring and anagram signatures.
  • Every page now shows the date its content last changed.
  • Added preview images for sharing pages on social media and messaging apps.

WordSolverTool rebuilt from the ground up

  • New, faster site: every page now loads as plain HTML, with no waiting for an app to start.
  • Dictionary expanded to the full ENABLE word list plus a documented supplement (QI, ZA, OK, EW and others).
  • Seven tools: Word Unscrambler, Anagram Solver, Scrabble Word Finder, Words With Friends Solver (with its own tile values), Wordle Solver, Crossword Solver and Word Finder.
  • Blank tiles are now scored as zero, matching the real games.
  • New word lists with meanings for every two-letter word and every Q word without U.
